Location decides everything
A flat in a level parking lot is a reasonable DIY job. A flat on a narrow shoulder, on a curve, on soft dirt, or at night is not — passing traffic and an unstable jack point are the two things that turn a flat tire into an injury.
What a roadside tire change looks like
We set out cones and work lights, chock the wheels, jack from a manufacturer-approved point on firm ground, and torque the lug nuts properly instead of guessing by feel. Then we check the spare's pressure before you drive off.
No spare? That is common now
Many newer light vehicles ship with an inflator kit instead of a spare, and a sidewall puncture cannot be sealed by a kit. In that case we simply tow you to the tire shop you prefer — usually the fastest real fix available.
Mind the temporary spare limits
Compact 'donut' spares are typically limited to around 50 mph and short distances. Treat one as a way to reach a tire shop, not as a week of normal driving.
